The R Family – {Champoeg State Park Family Photography}

I love the connections that I have started to make between the different couples and families that I get to photograph.  I met one of the moms in this extended family session at a wedding that I photographed in Estes Park, Colorado last September.  (I can’t wait to blog that one!)  One of the things that makes these extended family sessions extra fun is watching the grand-kids interact with their grandparents.  There is a love and bond between them that is so special.  I see it it my own son the way he talks about and plays with Grandma and Grandpa and I know it is the same with this family.  Grandma and Grandpa are good at making the kiddos smile too!  We met at Champoeg State Park in late fall which helped make for some great family photographs.  Here’s a sampling of this great family:

Pregnancy Announcement – {Sherwood Oregon Maternity Photographer}

When I got the email asking if I could help out with the announcement that they were having a baby, I got excited!  This was a chance to get creative and have some fun.  At the beginning of their session I asked who all knew that they were pregnant and her response was, “you and our doctor.”  It was great to be a part of something so special.  Their parents found out that they would soon be grandparents by opening a gift at Christmas containing a framed picture from this session.  Thank you so much for this fun opportunity “P” family!  I’m looking forward to seeing your family grow!

2012 Year Recap – {Sherwood Oregon Photographer}

Has it really been another year?!?!  Time seems to have flown by.  First of all, I’d like to welcome you to my new website!  It was time for a change and I’m hoping it will help me to blog more often this year.  I have met so many incredible couples and families this year. One particular highlight was that I was privileged to photograph the newborn baby girl of my very first wedding couple!  So neat to watch their family grow! I was invited to capture the weddings of some really amazing couples in 2012.  I am so humbled by the opportunity to photograph one of the most memorable days in a couple’s life! Weddings, babies, families…this is the good stuff!

Speaking of growing families…My family had a special addition in 2012, when we  welcomed our daughter in June. Last night my wife asked me, “Can you believe that her birthday is in 4 months!?!?!”  Growing up, my parents and grandparents always used to say how fast time flies.  Then you have your first kid and people say it even more.  Well, it’s true.  I’m witnessing it right now.  I love watching my little girl grow up and my 3 year old son is such a good big brother.

God has blessed our family so much this past year and I am so thankful for that.  This next year is going to be great!  I look forward to capturing the memories and emotions of couples in love and families that are growing all too fast.  Thank you to all of you who have trusted me to take your photos.  Take a look at the video below for some highlights from 2012.

Stephanie Callaghan Smith - Looks like you’ve had an amazing year and congratulations on the new addition to the family.

Mitch Senior Portraits – {Sherwood High School Senior Portraits}

Mitch is a good friend and has been friends with my wife since he was quite young.  Actually, my wife was his babysitter!  :)  I messaged him on facebook and asked if he was up for an adventure for his senior portraits and he certainly was.  We tromped around several areas in Sherwood and finished the day at the Tualatin Wildlife Refuge.  Be warned, there are wasp nests in the ground out there!!  I may have been stung several times, but it was well worth it!

Rob & Sara Wedding – {Lewis River Golf Course Wedding Photographer}

Rob & Sara got married last August at Lewis River Golf Course.  They put together a wedding that really represented who they are.  These two have a strong love for each other that was clear to see all throughout the day and their love is rooted in a strong foundation of their faith in God.  I pray that god will continue to bless these in their marriage!
